Mavs fans invited to ‘bleed blue’ at new practice facility

The Dallas Mavericks blood drive is on December 30, and we’re shooting for 500 donations to help boost the blood supply as we head into the challenging month of January. All blood donors will receive a tour of the new Mavs practice facility – never before opened to the public; a pair of tickets to an upcoming game; and a custom t-shirt designed for the event which reads “Mavs Fans Bleed Blue,” not to mention a pair of Carter BloodCare socks.

Carter BloodCare invites whole community to save lives

Carter BloodCare is guided by the philosophy that community blood donations should benefit community patients; and that blood centers must be responsive to the communities that support them. Each time folks donate blood, it saves lives. Those lives may even include someone you know, love, with whom you worship and/or work.

Spring welcomes new life: perfect time to donate blood, give patients renewed hope

Remaining cold weather will soon give way to extended daylight hours, awakening of budding trees and the beauty of floral landscapes. Carter BloodCare hopes these signs of new life will prompt residents to give a pint of life through the act of blood donation. Giving blood is one of the best ways to perform a random act of kindness for someone in need – potentially a patient struggling between life and death.

Hospitals have an ongoing requirement for blood; collectively, they fulfill 600 to 700 transfusion orders daily. As the community blood supplier, Carter BloodCare needs to see more than 1,000 blood donors a day to keep pace with demand.
